Functional capacity Evaluation / work assessment

Functional capacity evaluation uses a tool of standardised tests to assess medical, functional and fitness level of a client.

This kind of evaluation is applied mostly on clients that are severely ill, injured and cognitively impaired so to evaluate their level of impairment thus being able to:

1. Determine functional ability

2. Indicate loss of amenities

3. Prescribe relevant remedies or aftercare for the client

Fitness testing

This is a programme that uses standardised tests to test or evaluate the fitness level of a client. It focuses more cardiopulmonary and respiratory testing thus giving results on the fitness ability of a client.

Recommended for:

  • New employees at work
  • Unfit employees
  • Employees returning to work from a long term leave

Work conditioning

A post-acute, work related, intensive, goal oriented treatment program specifically designed to restore an individual’s systemic, neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary functions

Recommended for:

  • Unfit employees
  • Employees returning to work from a long term leave/ injury/ illness.

Work hardening

An occupational rehabilitation program that is focused on assisting the injured worker to return to the job while minimizing the risk of re-injury.

Recommended for:

  • Unfit employees
  • Employees returning to work from a long term leave/ injury/ illness.
